The truth be told, I never attended a sock hop. I was always shy and reserve. The thought of asking a young lady to dance made me apoplectic. But, it was really fun to watch the band get into it..and the people move to the music.

I was told that the band moves around a lot with choreographed actions. So, getting too close would be a problem. They suggested I stay behind.
