The Forks is a meeting place. This confluence of the Assiniboine and Red Rivers has been a central hub of life for thousands of years.
For the early natives and settlers, it offered a life with incredible opportunity and hardship. It is difficult to imagine how people survived here during the winter without some of the modern conveniences!
This park is a memorial to all those whose lives passed through here and who helped form Winnipeg.
